My Way Homework

Updated: Dec 20, 2023

🎄Autumn Term 2 🎄

The My Way Homework theme over the Christmas holidays is: ‘Animals including Humans’. In science we will be learning about the five of the groups that scientists use to classify animals: mammals, fish, birds, reptiles, and amphibians.

We will learn to identify the group an animal belongs to by its features and about the different diets animals eat. We will also be learning about the different parts of the human body and exploring the five senses.

To help start us off with this unit, have a think about some of these questions and present your answers in any way that you like.

·      What are amphibians?

·      What are reptiles?

·      Can you name some mammals?

·      What are carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores?

·      Can you name some parts of the human body?

·      What are the five senses?

You could create an information leaflet, a book, a poster… anything that you like! We cannot wait to see your creations

🍁 Autumn Term 1 🍁

Showing the seasonal changes

Some great creations, well done!

For this half term’s My Way Homework, we would like you to create a piece of work that shows the seasonal changes.

You could try to answer some of these questions…

  • What is the weather like in autumn and winter?

  • How do the seasons change throughout the year?

  • What happens to the days and nights in autumn and winter?

  • How do some animals adapt to the changing seasons? (clue: hibernation/collecting food)

You can present this homework in any way that you like. Here’s some ideas to help you…

  • Go on a nature walk to see the seasonal changes happening right now, take some pictures to show us what you have found!

  • Make a mini woodland with animals to show what they may be doing when the seasons change.

  • Make a Season Wheel- for each season, draw a picture of the weather.

  • Draw an autumn or winter picture and write a senses poem… what can you see? Hear? Smell? Feel? Taste?

Of course, these are just ideas. If you have an even better one, go ahead and do it YOUR way!

We cannot wait to see your creations!
